Background
The Gardeners Company is delighted to have as one of its Royal Liverymen His Majesty King Charles III who has graciously allowed the Company to create this annual award in his name.
Applications are encouraged from any all aspects of horticulture and horticultural science and from individuals, small groups and organisations.
Criteria
‘The King’s Trophy is awarded to an individual or team in professional horticulture that has achieved excellence in sustainable horticultural practices or growing innovation, or other notable successes towards the advancement of horticulture’.
Notes for completing your application
The judging panel will be looking for innovations or projects that are effectively complete, or maybe at the point of launch or market ready. They are keen to see initiatives that have the potential to make a substantial contribution to “move the dial” and to change the way the industry approaches something in future or have a substantial effect on sustainability in horticultural practice in future.
This might be a product, a new technique, a way of working or some other innovation being put forward. It may have taken a number of years to develop, but not necessarily, however the development of it and its “market readiness” should be substantially complete and ready to launch.
Nominations
Nominations can be made either by an individual or group of individuals or on behalf of them. If made on behalf of someone then we will need to know that you have their permission to put them forward and that they would accept the award if successful.
