Held under the auspices of the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS), and hosted by the RHS, the symposium is focused on advancing the science of greening our cities and will bring together over 200 academics, experts and the horticultural community across the four days.
The key themes are; carbon sequestration and storage, biodiversity support, flood risk mitigation, air quality improvement, thermal regulation, policy and social science, human health impacts, and noise reduction.
There will be five esteemed keynote speakers:
Prof Diane Pataki (University of Arizona, USA),
Prof Stephan Pauleit (Technical University Munich, Germany),
Dr Fraser Torpy (University of Technology Sydney, Australia),
Mr Felix Loh (Gardens by the Bay, Singapore),
Mr Philipp Nedomlel (Heatherwick Studios, London).
And a great speakers’ line-up featuring 40+ speakers from 15 countries and 30+ posters.

At RHS Hilltop at RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey.
Please note: that all symposium tickets include daily lunches, refreshments and shuttle-bus access between Woking and the venue.
In addition there is a symposium dinner (booked separately), which includes complementary drinks, 3-course meal, mini-concert and shuttle-bus access.
The post-symposium London Green Infrastructure Tour will take place on 28th September 2024 (booked separately) and includes; a guided walking tour of some Green Infrastructure installations of interest in London, talks from specialists, packed lunches and shuttle bus transport.
