Two-Part Course: ‘Introduction to pests and diseases: plant husbandry and plant health’

The University of Cambridge Botanic Garden (CUBG) is hosting a series of courses in 2021, designed to give participants a comprehensive introduction to horticulture across the gardening year.

This two-part course is named Introduction to pests and diseases: plant husbandry and plant health’ and is delivered by tutor Sandie Cain both online and in the Garden.

Sandie joined the Botanic Garden team in 2018 as Horticultural Learning Co-ordinator with responsibility for the Schools Garden and horticultural learning. She studied horticulture at Plumpton College and Bicton College, and was previously head gardener of a Victorian walled garden.

The first session will introduce the learner to best practice in cultivating gardens and growing plants, to minimise pests and diseases using plant husbandry…

The second session is a practical session taking place in the Garden which will provide learners with an opportunity to study and practice garden maintenance skills…
