GREEN HEALTH LIVE CONFERENCE

A day conference for professionals and those interested in the healing environment will be held on Tuesday 2nd October at Lambeth Palace.

Explore the links between health, gardening and the environment - and how churches can get involved - at this one-day conference in London.

The conference will be chaired by the Bishop of Carlisle, the Rt Revd James Newcome, who is the Church of England’s lead bishop on health. The Church Times Green Health Awards will be presented during the conference. 


Speakers:

Dr David Buck is Senior Fellow in Public Health and Inequalities at the King’s Fund. He is the author of Gardens and Health.

Dr Alistair Griffiths is Director of Science and Collections at the Royal Horticultural Society. Prior to RHS he was Head Scientist at the Eden Project.

Professor Harriet Gross is Acting Head of the College of Social Science, University of Lincoln and author of The Psychology of Gardening. She researches the psychological significance of gardens and gardening, and was involved in creating a Gold Medal-winning design at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Dr Elizabeth Henry is the Church of England’s National Adviser on Minority Ethnic Anglican Concerns.

Dr Suzanne Hyde is Clinical Director of the St Marylebone Healing and Counselling Centre.

Professor Jim McManus is Director of Public Health for Hertfordshire County Council and President of the Guild of Health and St Raphael.
