With the installation of the Lord Mayor at the Silent Ceremony on Friday 10th November, to be followed by the Lord Mayor’s Show the next day, the new Civic Party at the Mansion House, Guildhall and the Old Bailey will soon be in place.
The Civic Party consists of the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, the two Sheriffs (customarily one an Alderman, the other a lay or Non-Aldermanic Sheriff) and their consorts and the Chief Commoner and, in this case, her consort.
Alderman Charles Bowman was elected at Common Hall on Friday 29th September. The two Sheriffs – Alderman Timothy Hailes JP and Neil Redcliffe JP – were elected at Common Hall on Monday 26th June and were installed on Thursday 28th September. Chief Commoner Wendy Mead OBE CC was elected in October 2016 and took up office on 27th April 2017.
